service-forge

PyQt6 GUI frontend for systemctl — part of the Forge Suite by dev-boffin-io.

Features

  • List all systemd services with load/active/sub status
  • Colour-coded status (green=running, red=failed, yellow=exited)
  • Search + filter (all / running / dead / failed)
  • Start / Stop / Restart / Enable / Disable with confirmation
  • Journal log viewer (50–500 lines) per service
  • Auto-refresh every 10 seconds

Install

pip install PyQt6

Run

python app.py

Requires sudo for start/stop/restart/enable/disable actions.
Add a sudoers rule to avoid password prompts:

your_user ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /bin/systemctl

Platform

Linux only (systemd required)
