pass-forge

PyQt6 local encrypted password manager — part of the Forge Suite by dev-boffin-io.

Security

  • AES-256-GCM encryption
  • PBKDF2-SHA256 key derivation (480,000 iterations)
  • Vault stored at ~/.pass-forge-vault.enc
  • Clipboard auto-clears after 30 seconds
  • Master password never stored — derived key only held in memory

  • Vault tab — entries with title, username, URL, category, notes, modified date
  • Search + category filter
  • Detail panel with password strength bar
  • Show/hide password toggle
  • Double-click to edit
  • Generator tab — configurable length, charset, exclude chars
  • Password strength meter (Weak / Fair / Good / Strong)
  • Change master password (re-encrypts vault)
  • Lock & re-unlock without restarting

Install

pip install PyQt6 cryptography

Run

python app.py

First run creates a new vault. Choose a strong master password.
