notify-forge

PyQt6 multi-channel notification manager — part of the Forge Suite by dev-boffin-io.

Features

• Send tab — manually send a notification through any saved channel
• Channels tab — add/edit/delete/test channels, saved to ~/.notify-forge-channels.json
• Monitor Rules tab — background threshold monitor (CPU/Memory/Disk/Swap)
  • Configurable operator (>, <, >=, <=), threshold %, cooldown period
  • Auto-fires to selected channel + system tray balloon
  • Saved to ~/.notify-forge-rules.json
• History tab — full send log, saved to ~/.notify-forge-history.json
• System tray icon with show/quit menu — runs persistently in the background
• Background monitor thread checks rules every 5 seconds (uses psutil)

Install

pip install PyQt6 psutil
# notify-send required for Desktop channel (libnotify-bin on Debian/Ubuntu)
sudo apt install libnotify-bin

Run

python app.py
