log-forge

Web-based log viewer & tail dashboard — part of the Forge Suite by dev-boffin-io.

Features

  • File Logs tab — auto-discovers /var/log/** readable log files
  • Journal tab — systemd unit journal viewer
  • Grep/filter with highlighted matches
  • tail -f live streaming via SSE (EventSource)
  • Line-level colour coding: CRITICAL / ERROR / WARN / INFO / DEBUG
  • Configurable line count (10–2000)
  • Auto-scroll with override detection
  • Dark GitHub-style UI, mobile-friendly

Install

pip install flask

Run

# default port 5051
python app.py

# custom
python app.py --host 0.0.0.0 --port 5051

Some logs require sudo to read. Run with sudo python app.py if needed,
or set proper group permissions on log files.

Platform

Linux (systemd optional for Journal tab)
