PyQt6 archive manager — part of the Forge Suite by dev-boffin-io.

Supported Formats

tar, tar.gz, tar.bz2, tar.xz, zip, 7z, gz, bz2, xz

Features

• Browser tab — open and list any supported archive's contents
  • Sortable table: name, size, date, permissions
  • Extract all or extract selected entries only
• Output tab — live command output during create/extract/test
• Convert tab — convert between formats (extract → repack)
• Create dialog — format picker, compression level, excludes, multi-source
  • Live command preview before running
• Test — verify archive integrity (tar -tvf, unzip -t, 7z t, gzip -t)

Install

pip install PyQt6
# Requires: tar, zip/unzip, 7z (p7zip-full), gzip, bzip2, xz-utils
sudo apt install p7zip-full zip unzip   # Debian/Ubuntu

Run

python app.py
